Flavoured water to help increase your fluid intake

It’s important to stay hydrated, but some people find plain water difficult to tolerate after weight loss surgery. Get creative and use fruit, herbs and vegetables to add some flavour to your drink, and use sparkling water for special occasions.

Here’s some great combinations to get you started!

 

Cucumber, mint and strawberry

1 cucumber, thinly sliced

10 fresh mint leaves, torn/crushed

½ cup strawberries, thinly sliced

 

Watermelon, kiwi and lime

1 cup watermelon, cubed and deseeded

1 kiwi, thinly sliced

1 lime, thinly sliced

 

Blackberries, orange and ginger

½ cup blackberries

1 orange, thinly sliced

2-inch piece ginger, peeled and thinly sliced

 

Strawberry, basil and lemon

½ cup strawberries, thinly sliced

5 large leaves basil, torn/crushed

1 lemon, thinly sliced
